Character Background and Description
Elfriede is the daughter of one of the most wealthy and powerful families in Claud Gren. Faced with a duty and desire to advance her families position, and being an only child, Elfriede looked to find a way to advance her position despite the sexism in society. Unwilling to marry into another family and end her families name, Elfriede used her families power to secure a position in the military, specifically she secured command of Fortress Guidance, a major military institution on the edge of Claud Gren, near the Plateau of the Green Wood. The position was initially chosen due to a belief that the situation there would prevent any of the other superpowers from taking any aggressive actions, but the changing situation in the Azure Coalition has made things much more uncertain.
Despite this, Elfriede has risen to the occasion. Her family's power gave her the greatest education possible within the republic, and her own intelligence and wit has let her adapt to the situation despite her inexperience. She has begun using trade deals and her connection with pirates to pressure the supplies of the other superpowers, while reinforcing her own position and treating with the native people. Her goal is present the republic as a protective power that the tribes of the Green Woods will join willingly, but if the situation changes she’s not against taking them by force.
